Boutique Buttons in Action

I have a couple of layouts to share today using Boutique Buttons.  The first is from Riikka Kovasin is a very talented scrapper and crafter from Finland.  She is on the Scrap365 design team and I'm always amazed by the variety of her projects.  She is a super-sweetie so I'm thrilled that she has taken the time to play with the Boutique Buttons.

Riikka really has such a varied style and seems to embrace different techniques.

Hop on over to Riikka's blog for more inspiration.  She has perfect English and she takes the time post in both.

I have been playing of course (two weeks without crafting meant that I NEEDED to craft when I got back).

I'm afraid that the photos are a little dull compared to real life.  I still haven't mastered good layout photos especially when they're really light.

I thought I'd try mounting some onto circles for a little interest.

As well as mixing the designs together.  I really tried to design the badges so that they would go with different paper lines and styles.

You still have a chance to win a set of badges by leaving me a comment by 31st August.  If you can't wait, then hop on over to Stash Panache!

Thanks for popping in.

Our Olypmics

The Olympic Games seem like ages ago now!  We thoroughly enjoyed watching them on TV but unfortunately, we didn't get to see anything in London.  So for us, our Olympic Games were when the torch arrived in Solihull.

We all got up early and lined the streets.  We bumped into so many friends along the way - a real party atmosphere.  Thankfully, the morning was dry and bright - perfect spectator weather!

I used Kaisercraft's Check-in from Meryly Impressions for my layout.  The colours were absolutely perfect inspiration.  I love all the postmark and travel images.  I used the border as my main method of adding embellishments, tucking in stickers and die-cuts and of course Boutique Buttons!

I stamped the postmark in Versamark ink before embossing in white which gives the base a really cool effect.  I also added my journalling onto a tag from the collectables and tucked it in behind the photo.

A few paint rings here and there (Mr Hueys)

I also love the acetate shapes from this collection - they make perfect pockets and mats for titles and journalling!

Pack up Your Troubles

Mini albums are one of my favourite craft-makes

Cute, travel albums are probably my all-time favourite makes!  When I received Kaisercraft's Check-in from Merly Impressions I couldn't wait to come up with a mini-book.

In no particular order (sorry it is a bit random), the inside cover features a very cute pocket made using an acetate from the Check-in collection.

Each page has been decorated in a simple fashion using a kaisercraft stamp and inks.

I love the Check-n collectables - the are so many cute die-cuts to play with.

The photos are from out honeymoon.  We went on a cruise around the caribbean before marrying in the Dominican Republic.

More pockets and ephemera.

Merly Impressions stock the entire Check-in collection.  I used the 6 1/2" paper pad, the collectables, acetate shapes, stickers (oooh - you need it all).

I also sprinkled some Boutique Badges from my collection - The Happy Tourist.

Thanks for popping in.  Don't forget to leave me a comment to win a set if Boutique Buttons for yourself.  Just let me know which is your favourite set!

Sometimes Simple is Better...

We all rush from place to place trying to keep up with everything, but sometimes, we need to stop and smell the roses as it were.  We trotted off to Avoncroft Museum not so long ago which is a truly fabulous and interesting place (and not stuffy at all!).

They have a huge collection of telephone boxes (including a Tardis phone box).  The act of calling one another on these ancient phones was brilliant!
I decided on a simple eye-catching design because I love the way the colour of the flowers pop against the brown.

Enjoy your weekend.  Thanks for popping in.

Venice

I have been playing with the truly gorgeous Check-in from Kaisercraft this month.

There are lots of travel inspired pieces in the collection.  I used the tickets from the collectables and 6 1/2" paper pad.  I created a fun ticket border which is a great way to add cute embellishments.

I really love the acetate pieces in the collection.  What a cool way to create a title!

Stickers and rub-ons enhance the gorgeous tickets.

I tucked a Boutique Button under the compass.  So cute!

I made a slit at the bottom of the paper to tuck more photos.  The Happy Traveller Boutique Button adds a great easy detail to draw the eye.

All papers and embellishments - Merly Impressions
Boutique Buttons - Stash Panache

Don't forget, I am giving away five sets of Boutique Buttons!  Just leave me a lovely comment and let me know your favourite set.  I will pick out the winners after 31st August.

Thanks for dropping by.
