Just Magnolia

I haven't done a card challenge for absolutely ages, so when I had a spare night, I thought I'd have a go.

I am not normally a purple person, but I do love these papers by Prima.  The cute stamp fell into my basket at the NEC the other day - isn't she just adorable?!

]
I haven't used my Copics for ages, so I was a bit out of practise, but the purples are easy to blend.

While I was on a roll, I did another 2 cards!  It normally takes me all night to do one, so this is truly a world record for me - 3 cards in 3 hours.

I did add stickles to the dress and shoes, but it doesn't show up well in my photo.

Nicki and I stopped at the Lili of the Valley stand at the NEC - what cute stamps!  This little cutie was my favourite one.

Again, it's hard to see the glitter but the image is just so pretty.

That's it!  My creative flourish over.

Thanks for stopping by.

I'm making up for lost time this weekend. Anna has come up with another stupendous sketch - such a clever bunny.

I do find myself sticking to the sketch quite religously - not sure that is because I can't deviate or just don't need to.

Pete and Jacob outside the amazing Mission Space at Epcot.  I love the way Disney don't just make a ride, they theme the whole area with massive planets in this case.

More cogs - just love them.  I'm hoping to bag the new Tim Holtz dies as soon as they hit the shops.

I layered up some of my favourite paper scraps which I couldn't part with during my recent declutter.

The new Scrapbook Inspirations Ideas book is out this week! Should be hitting the shops on Wednesday (31st March).  It is quite a break from the monthly magazine and will be much more focused on beautiful, inspiring layouts.  I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Pop over to Shimelle's blog for more information and an order link.

When I came back from holiday I was itching to do some scrapping.  This was the first layout I did using my new stash.  Actually, I didn't buy much stash but did buy stamps.  I just love the Inkadoo stamps - they were such great value for money and I love their flourishes.

I've always loved clocks, so when I saw a box of Making Memory chipboard clocks I nearly feinted!

Some more of the new stamps.  Just don't seem to have enough stamps (ha ha).  If you were to see my stamp cupboard at home you would know that wasn't true.

Well I'm off to read my new Tim Holtz book which arrived this morning.  YIPPEE!  I have new Distress Inks to try out as well as some lovely paste and paints.  Hopefully something exciting will be created.  Who knows!

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your weekend.

Just love Prima

We had a lovely busy crop on Sunday- I got absolutely NOTHING done!  8 hours of nothing!  I did a lot of chatting though which is why I never get anything done. LOL

I adore this paper from Prima.  I suppose I could have done something really fancy with it, but sometimes, simple is just what it needs.

This is from our lovely kit. We only have a couple left which is fabulous because there will be lots of ladies out there playing with scrumptious stash.

Nicki and I went to Hobbycraft show yesterday.  One of the nicest things for me (apart from all the lovely inspiration and stash), was bumping into friends.  One of the first people we ran into was a friend whom we have seen for years.  It was so nice to catch up.

The show was fabulous but if you're going, make sure you go early because it was heaving.

I have loads of new layouts to share, just need to get some photos, so hopefully will be back later or tomorrow.

Thanks for being patient!

Exciting News

Well two things really.  On the home front, we have had an offer accepted on a dream house which we're totally excited about.  It's not quite in the area we were hoping for, but it does stay within the school catchment area. PHEW. I'll wait till things progress a bit and I'll share a photo with you.

Second bit of news is that Nicki and I have put together a fabulous kit which is choc-full of lovely papers, flowers and embellies.  I'm so excited, because the items are just beautiful.  We've been making some projects using the kit and it's just wonderful to work with.

Just check out those lush flowers and accessories.  *Sigh*  It will be a shame to see them leave the house!

This is one of my favourite layouts I made with the kit.  The optional stamp set adds lovely detailing to the cluster of embellishments

The fabulouse double-sided Prima papers feature such wonderful images such as the butterflies.  I love the grunge text on the cream paper tag.

The chipboard alphas are flocked too so they have a lovely touchy-feely texture!
The kit is a snip at £25 and will include our very own ideas journal containing all the projects we've made. If you would like to know more about the kit then you can check out http://www.whathousework.co.uk/ for more information or use the contact us.

Pencil Lines Sketch 178

The Pencil Lines team have been lucky enough to work with Prima products this month (excellent timing since all the new CHA goodies are now available).

This week's sketch was just up my street and perfect for all those lovely Prima Flowers. The photo is of my DD and our good friend's DD who is just so photogenic - she's such a sweetie.

I got a bunch of stamps whilst I was in Florida - I love the fact that Jo-ann's always seem to have 40% off stamps - just a shame they don't sell more!  Still our suitcase was rather full.

Prima had sent us a variety of sweet flowers - I added my own sprinkle of sugar.

The felt border was chopped up to make a frame.  Those funky letters are gorgeous.

Love page pebbles - I used one in the centre of a flower and layered other bits and pieces I found on my trip.

On a personal note, we've been busy house hunting since our buyers are eager to get moving.  There is almost nothing in our area at the moment, so we are looking further afield.  My top tip to anyone selling - please tidy up your house!  I'm amazed at how messy some people's houses are when they have strangers poking around.

We are putting an offer on an amazing house tomorrow which is completely outside our budget.  We went to view again today and we've all picked out our bedrooms/craft room and office.  I just hope they will take a lot less than their asking price. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for popping in.

Get Fresh!

Although it's really cold here, the sun is blazing and you can sense that Spring is just around the corner.

I obviously have a mountain of photos from my holiday and there is nothing better than to be able to share them in a cute little album - so much nicer than getting them out of an envelope to show people. This album uses the fabulous fresh papers from My Mind's Eye and comes in it's own little box (how adorable!)

I just love the fact the papers are all double-sided with fantastic patterns on both sides.  I created a little band around the book to keep it all neatly fastened.

I've used simple layering techniques to make the most of the papers and I didn't want my normal bulky pages so it would fit into the box.  Lilo and Stitch are my favourite characters - seems like ages since we saw them now.

I'll be showing you how to make this album at workshops on Tuesday 20th April in Worcester or Thursday 22nd April in Solihull.  It will be a 3 hour class and as always, we'll have lots of fun and chatter.  If you would like to know more, then pop along to our website  http://www.whathousework.co.uk/ or use the link on the side.

Thanks for stopping by.

MIA

I don't know if you noticed the distinct lack of posts, but we've been on holiday for the past couple of weeks.

We went back to Disney World (it really is our favourite place on earth).  As you'd expect we had a completely fabulous time.

I took over 500 photos so there are a lot to sift through and edit.  But I love this rare one of us all outside of Mission Space.

It was sunny but cool for a lot of the time but it didn't stop everyone going swimming - the pool was lovely and warm!

I got to try out a segway - I've always wanted to have a go.  They are truly amazing to ride!  I really NEED one of these! Don't look at the hair - my straighteners didn't work over there!

On a completely separate note, we put our house on the market just before we left for Florida and I'm pleased to say, we sold it today. We've been at this house for over 13 years, and it will be quite sad to leave it behind in a way. We haven't looked at anything else yet, so I hope we can find something. There is a distinct lack of houses on the market in the area we're looking for. Fingers crossed.

I have been scrapping madly since getting back, so I hope to share some new layouts with you this week.

Thanks for dropping in.
