October Afternoon

Literally in this case.

As I've been packing away my craft room, I decided that somethings just have to be used. I have been hoarding these papers for ever and finally decided that cutting them is a necessity.

I created this layout based on a Pencil Lines sketch and show the kids and our friends at a local farm when we went pumpkin picking.

I do admit to try being frugal with the papers  - using as little as possible, but who can blame me.

Just look at those dog gone cute houses!

I even splashed out on some painterly petals (Prima) as well customising my flowers with Glimmer Mists and glitter.

Thanks for popping in.

A bit of Sunshine

Photobucket

Our first trip to Disney was in May and June.  It was sooooo hot!  I remember this day we could hardly wait in line for the rides.

Goofy and Pluto were just so funny together.  It really made standing around so much fun.  It took ages to get a photo as they were goofing so much.  I really wanted a bit of sunshine for my page and this month's kit from Treasured Scrapbooking was just perfect - or should I say Pawfect!
I customised my background with inks and Tim Holtz masks.  I also cut my own stencil (the flourish) which is behind the embellies.

Simple stars top add a bit of fun.

Urban Vintage

Photobucket

I do love lots of different styles depending on my mood.  I have always adored vintage stuff but also can't resist urban grunge.

I firstly customised the background with paint (included in the kit) and stamps.  To get the splatter, I firstly watered down the paint and let it drop onto the cardstock.

The flower has been customised with stamps.  You can't really see it but the tag is attached to a big press-stud which was in my set of buttons.

Thanks for popping in.

I don't know how Anna does it, but she produces the best sketches.  There is always loads of flexibility but contains just the right amount of inspiration to create a layout.

I have hoarded these papers by Little Yellow Bicycle for ever!  You know what it is like when something is just too nice to use.

I have clustered my favourite roses around the edge of the circle, topped off with a few leaves, vines and tiny butterflies made from vintage books.

I carried on my butterfly theme with hand made tulle butterflies (a bit hard to see in the photos).

Thanks Anna for another great sketch!  I see that Anna's Pencil Lines Book is almost ready to ship.  Check out the details here

Thanks for stoppping by.

The February kit over at Treasured Scrapbooking has loads of beautiful papers with a delicate feel.  I used mine to create a 'Memories' purse.  This purse can be created quickly and be used for all sorts of occasions.

I really love the pretty Prima trim which was in the kit.

There are large blossoms in the kit this month - I've cut up one of them to make the leaves for my flower clusters.  Those flowers were made from crepe paper.  Linda Albrecht is a fabulous designer and she has a tutorial on her blog.

I created vintage love letters to go in my purse.  The love letters are stamped images and the music paper (which is included in the kit).   All tied up with twine and roses.

There are concertina envelopes inside for all  your tags, photos, etc.  The Treasured Scrapbooking newsletter has a tutorial included this month if you would like to make your own.

My Baby is 6!

My baby turned 6 yesterday!  How could she be 6 already?  I've been busy with all her birthday celebrations including friends coming round for tea and a birthday party.

So, my excuse for today is I've been busy!  I did get time to make a couple of cards for her.  This one is from my DS.

Just love this image of Tilda - she is such a little dumpling. The papers are from when I was a guest designer at Bella Blvd.

The little strawberry muffins look good enough to eat.

I have managed to do this week's sketch at Pencil Lines, so I'll leave you with a sneaky peak.

Don't forget to check out Pencil Lines on Sunday when the sketch goes live.

Treasured Scrapbooking Blog Hop Winner

TS has a blog hop last week to celebrate the new February kit launch.  So as is the tradition, I've generated a random winner c/o random.org

Erin G.

You are my lucky winner!  Can you please email Erin G, you'll need to email Erin Gudge (fluterinby@peak.org) with your details to claim your prize.  Congratulations!

I taught 3 classes at a local crop on Saturday.  The ladies there were just so lovely - I had a really great time.  There were 25 doing the classes (although one or two defferred - you know who you are!) so it was a LOT of talking and showing.

This was my favourite project as we used my favourite ever papers - My Mind's Eye Oh La La.

Just take a look at those die-cuts!
Thank you to Liberty and Cleo for such a lovely kit - it was such a pleasure to work with.

I'll share the other projects later this week as I'm working on stuff which I can't share at the moment.

Thanks for stopping in.

MIA

I've not been around too much this week as I've been frantically getting the house ready to put on the market.  Well the deed is done.  We instructed an agent and the board will go up tomorrow.  So I guess I'll have months of keeping the house spick and span for whenever someone comes round to view.  It's always  spotless of course (ha ha) but it has almost killed me getting everything to look like a show home.

So I'll share some projects I've done before my home got turned upside down.

I did this layout for an on-line friend, Vee.  She is such a sweetie.  She told me she had difficulty scrapping this photo - I do like a challenge.  I must admit it took me a while to get around to scrapping it, but here it is.

I do like this technique of stamping out some leaves, inking and scrunching them.  There is something very satisfying!

Also just a quick card for one of Lauren's school friends. I love the Build a Robot stamps and perfect for a little boy.

Hopefully I'll have some more to share this week - I'm frantically trying to cram everything in before half-term!

Thanks for stopping by.

This month's kit feature gorgeous prints from Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey, Chatterbox as well as vintage music sheets, journal notes, buttons and more.

For my challenge this month, I would like your to create your own embellishments.  For mine, I have created this pleated circle as my main embellishment.  I've topped it off with some vintage music score and one of the lovely fabric brads included with the kit.

I cut out simple leaf shapes from the music paper and embellished with a hand-sewn flourish.  Pretty tiny butterflies flit around the journal blocks.

I hope that you will take part in my challenge as well as continue on through the blog hop.  If you're joining us mid-hop, be sure to hop all the way around!
