Hot and Steamy!

No, not my love life. The weather has truly turned into summer for a short while at least. It's been scorching hot for the last 4 or 5 days. Today I hear thunder (I love a good thunderstorm).

Just a LO from a few weeks ago. I've had the Sassafras paper from Story of My Own kit. It was one of those that was just too good to cut up. So I haven't been very adventurous with it.

I've used one of those lovely spinners from K&Co - man there were a lot in one packet.

Just some doodling and stamping (I love October Afternoon).

As for the blogfest. We did well over at Ally Scraps. We've generated a winner for my RAK. However, I know I've had a few extra comments - I really appreciate you leaving some feedback - it makes me feel connected. So I picked a name out of the hat (although my hat was much smaller).

Claire!! you were the first name out of the hat. I've left a comment on your blog to get in touch.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Scrapping

Hello Lurkers!

I'm glad you've popped up. I often wonder if I'm talking to myself.

Just to answer a couple of questions:

The grid from my LO below is actually a rub-on from Glitz - you can find it here. I must admit I prefer stamps because I can use them again and again, but I cut a bit off this rub-on to use and there is loads left, so that's good enough for me.

The papers are Dreamy from My Mind's Eye. Cathy will be getting the Dreamy 2 collection from this summer's CHA. Woo Hoo! MME is one of my absolute favourites. Always fab quality and always so versatile.

What can I share? I have done a couple of projects for ScrapDreamie blog. You can see the full images over there but here are a couple of sneaky peaks.

I created an organiser to hold all those letters, notes and thingies that need to be kept safe. Well our fridge is full of them. This would make an ideal gift for someone.

These pretty papers are Daisy D's Chloe Marie. I must have been a good girl to get some more vintage style papers to play with. I like how the flower clusters turned out and added a little bit of sewing for more depth.

Have you noticed that everything has stitching on lately? It's my new/old thing.

Gotta run. Dinner in the oven isn't going to cook itself.

Pop in tomorrow!

Still Blogging

Phew! It's jolly hot here. Just after 11pm and it's still roasting.

We're still blogging over at Allyscraps. I'm offering a RAK to one lucky person who leaves a comment on the blog (going all the way up until this Sunday). Bear in mind (but don't tell DH) that I have lots of stash from those kind companies that I design for. I remember buying some Maya Road recently which is untouched and I'm sure I have some brand new goodies which are light enough to post anywhere in the world.

Here is something I did just for me! These papers are from My Mind's Eye and are just stunning. I took Lauren and Georg out recently when the teachers were on strike. They just bring out the best in each other. No moaning, no fighting, just plain fun.

I love the Glitz rub-ons (I'm still after a stamp like this one). You can find it at Allyscraps.

The chipboard is K&Co Saffron (also Allyscraps).

They just look so adorable together.

Happy Scrapping

Blog Fest

No, not mine. We're having a little Blog fest over at Allyscraps. There is always lots of inspiration available and it's about time you checked it out! So this week, we'll be updating the blog everyday. If you leave a comment, one lucky winner will receive a RAK from me!

So what are you waiting for? Go check out the Allyscraps Blog. Don't forget to leave a comment!

If you are sticking around here, how about some projects? I have lots in the works which need to go on-line.

Here's a baby layout using Imaginisce papers. They are just so sweet they were almost too good to use.

Aren't those little giraffes too cute? Check out the papers and stamps here.

We have our crop next month and Nicki will be doing a very special class. Check out this pop-up box album from Karen Burniston. WOW. The album is awesome.

I really did make it this week.

I got a bit ahead of myself last week when I thought I was going to be on Pencil Lines last week. Note to self: Check your dates! LOL.

Anyway, it is here for real this time. It was such a thrill to be asked as I know how popular the site is and how many people drop in.

You can see everyone's lovely examples and the sketch here.

Thanks for looking!

TGIF!

I think someone needs to tell the weatherman that it's summer now. That should mean sunshine shouldn't it? It did when I was a kid at least. Heavy downpours of rain is probably going to be what summer means from now on (see global warming).

Let me see, I have had a wonderful time over at AllyScraps this week because it was the BOM prompt today. We have a new prompt every 2 weeks and this week's was supplied by Susan.

Write a letter to your younger self. How cool is that?

It gave me a great opportunity to scrap an old photo and play around with some vintage bits and pieces.

I tucked my letter away underneath the ribbon (mainly because I couldn't get it on my page).

How much fun will it be in years to come to find a letter hidden away?!

Here's my letter

Hello You!

Who’d of thought that we’d get to 42 so quickly! Life really did fly by much faster than I imagined possible –just like Mum said.

What can I say? You have a wonderful life ahead of you – filled with exciting experiences. But there are some things you should know.

You really don’t have a good opinion of yourself. You are a good person, very loyal and sincere. The qualities make you someone who should appreciate yourself for who you are. Don’t look for the approval of others. Don’t worry about what they think. You are unique and that’s a good thing.

It will take far too long to be happy with what you have. Yes, it made you work harder but don’t take so long – eh??!

Think about settling down a little sooner may be. Careers aren’t everything – that way you may enjoy your children and even grand-children.

Have a great life – I know you will. (By the way – it’s OK to leave food on you plate – you can’t save Africa on your own).

Guess who'll be on Pencil Lines this weekend?

I am totally thrilled - Pencil LInes is such a great source of inspiration to many people - me included! I think my sketch is up this Sunday.

I wanted to share this altered tin I did for Scrapbook Sisters last month. I was given papers from Sandy Lion. Who would have thought that they could bring out some papers I like?! This project has got to be one of my favourites EVER!

I've altered a Maya Road tin to add lots of shells, beads and other trinkets - it is so touchy feely in real life.

The photos are all from our Honeymoon in the Carribbean all those years ago!

TFL!
